Welcome to Connecting with Super Kate. I'm Superkate, and this week's episode is a guided meditation. I release these meditations once a month, and they're meant for you to take time for yourself, to take a few minutes to connect with your body and with your mind. Today's meditation will have a focus on connecting to parts of the body we don't often think about. It's wonderful that you're taking this time to be present for a few moments. Incorporating this meditation into your daily and weekly life allows you to find more calm, be less stressed, and be able to enjoy your life more and the lives of those you love. All of these meditations can be done seated or lying down, whatever you feel is more comfortable for you in the moment, and whatever's available. Please do not meditate while you're driving and figure out a time when you're going to come back to this episode and really be present for yourself and for your body. Now take this opportunity to sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Perhaps you need a pillow under your head, maybe a pillow under your knees. And as you get comfortable, let your arms relax in whatever position feels best. Let's start today by listening and feeling where your breath is. When you inhale, which parts of your body are expanding or lifting? When you exhale, which parts of your body are contracting or lowering?

Noticing the inhale and the exhale.

SPEAKER_01

As you breathe, notice if you can send a little bit of your inhale to that little fold between where the ear meets the head, that little crease. Moving that attention towards the visible side of the ear. That fold that's near the top, but is closest again to where the ear meets the head, sending the breath into the deepest part of that fold. And then as the breath relaxes through the whole body, we bring our attention into that area just at the back of the arms inside the armpit area.

SPEAKER_00

Taking deep breath.

SPEAKER_01

As you exhale, they begin to relax towards each other again. Or you can try to connect your breath and the awareness from that space in between your fingers all the way up to behind the ears.

SPEAKER_00

Inhaling and exhaling. Almost at the sides of the hips.

SPEAKER_01

And as you inhale, it's almost as if your knees are beginning to draw towards each other.

SPEAKER_00

And as you exhale, they relax further away.

SPEAKER_01

And our awareness travels down the leg to the inside of the ankle towards the back heel area. There's almost a little triangle of space between the tendons at the heel and the bones of the inside of the ankle.

SPEAKER_00

Inhale traveling through your body all the way down.

SPEAKER_01

Inhaling almost as if your feet are about to lift off the ground, and exhaling as your legs grow longer.

SPEAKER_00

And then our attention travels to those spaces between the toes. Every inhale giving lightness, an exhale giving release.

SPEAKER_01

Up through the inside ankle, up through the back of the knee, up through the sides of the hips, and exhaling, connecting all of those little in-between spots of the legs. And an exhale out through all of those in-between spots. Inhaling into the spaces. And when you feel ready, think of those in-between spaces in your fingers and toes. And feel just a little bit of energy building so that you are able to wiggle your fingers and toes. And when you feel ready to come back into the present moment, gently open your eyes. Thank you for joining me for this meditation. Tune in every week. I release these meditations once a month, as well as solo and guest episodes. I encourage you to use these meditations a few times a week because prioritizing your connection to your body and your connection to your own quiet time calms your nervous system. And that is what we all need to navigate this world from a more grounded place. Thank you for tuning in, and I look forward to connecting with you again.
